I suppose that’s another way of describing it.

I just find it strange you seem to always be having a dig and yet you have said in the past you like the quirky side of Romania.

The country is far from perfect but what country is?

I like Romania and the vast majority of people I have met.

    1. It’s rather sad that the great majority of your posts show little knowledge of English grammar or punctuation. Especially from someone who repeatedly extols the virtues of native, nay, British-born English speakers.

      1. The reason I have to ask is that I don’t extol the virtues of British born English speakers, far from it …… Oh and as for the spelling and grammar police on the internet ……. How very tragic ๐Ÿ™‚

No wonder you’re worried about those damn forriners (sic) taking your job.

No, more lies with no proof from you.

You’re not very good at this are you?

Still waiting for that one shred of proof I am racist ……. Because I am not.

You don’t like it when I say I like Romania and its people do you ?

Well I’m afraid I do and can’t wait to return ๐Ÿ™‚

      4. And as for “the spelling and grammar police on the internet,” I am rather stunned that I need to point out that a forum such as this (as are most ‘net forums) thrives on communication via language. I believe it is, therefore, reasonable to expect that those who wish to be taken seriously might show some respect for the amenities of the language with which they choose to communicate.

Writing on the internet is, obviously, not done on paper. I do not, however, hardly see why that excuses people from correct usage. The primary input method for ‘net communication looks an awful lot like…a typewriter…

        I’ve obviously touched a nerve ๐Ÿ™‚

Being the spelling and grammar police is obviously a role you take rather seriously and the concentration and proof reading you must have taken for your rant is rather amusing when I think about it ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s only the internet and not an exam, chill out and don’t let my poor spelling and grammar upset you so much !

      6. Of course I care about good English. I teach. Moreover, I took the time and care to learn it when I was a student. And I make bloody well certain that my students do, too. (Starting the preceding sentence with a coordinating conjunction is permissible in informal writing.)

Getting your knickers in a twist about someone who doesn’t use absolute perfect spelling and grammar on the internet is tragic, and it’ll do your blood pressure no good at all.

As long as I can understand what someone is trying to say, I couldn’t care less about perfect punctuation, spelling and grammar.

Life is far too short ๐Ÿ™‚

No, you’re making things up again, I am not racist.

Much like anon, you fail to highlight a single post where I am.

Just because I have upset you, doesn’t mean you have to call me racist, it makes you seem rather simple and desperate.

        Enjoy your day ๐Ÿ™‚

Produce one racist comment I have ever made then?

Get anon to help you, he’s been looking a while too ๐Ÿ™‚

Or are you just going to be made to look simple by me everytime you post bullsh1t ?

You and others continued to hound me and follow me around calling me a racist, when I am not, and you can’t produce a single piece of evidence that I am, because you talk rubbish.

I’d stick to trolling people for their spelling and grammar instead, you’re not too bad at that ๐Ÿ™‚

        Have a nice day!

  1. I think the flyover stands out a lot more than the Sky Tower. It’s all lit up and pretty at night, where as the Sky Tower is a round building that you can see in most cities. Could there also be legal issues with the owners of Sky Tower not wanting the image used without royalties etc…?

555 is a weird anniversary though.

    2. I don’t think 555 is weird at all ……… Common sense tells you that they have used an opportunity as when would they wait …….Until 600 ?

Why not take advantage of 555 which has a nice ring to it and do something positive for the community and have an event!

Agree and I have been guilty too BUT so have others, and I seem to be attacked about anything I say from a couple of predictable posters.

I’ll always defend myself though, especially when wrongly branded a racist.

  3. I think they used the bridge over other modern buildings is because of the convenient metaphor. Reading the logo from left to right, you can pretty clearly see what they’re trying to say.

The sky tower would be cool, but the “to the future” message wouldn’t be quite so obvious.

  4. Technically Bucharest isn’t 555 years old, it’s just 555 years since the first unambiguously recorded mention of Bucureศ™ti (ะ‘๊™‹ะบ๊™‹ั€ั”ฬั‰ะธ). As a relevant entity, it’s probably over 640 years old.
